I’m also working on Wi-Fi streaming timeline refresh for a future 2.1 update. The streaming feature will help reduce issues with Twitter’s new 1.1 API limits.
Please understand that Twitter’s rate limit changes are from Twitter, not us. I understand your frustration with Twitter’s new rate limits, but unfortunately Twitter’s changes are out of our control. If you’re interested in the technical details, see this this article on Twitter’s developer site. Twitter is beginning the process this week of retiring their prior 1.0 API, so all developers are now required to switch to their new 1.1 API. You can read more about Twitter’s 1.0 API retirement plans here.
Authorizing DM Access for Imported iOS Accounts
Some users have reported a “Reauthorization needed for DMs” message after importing an iOS Twitter account. This message is expected in cases where an imported iOS account was never previously authorized for DM access with Tweetlogix. However, there is an issue in Tweetlogix 2.0 where the app does not prompt to re-authorize your account as it should.
An alternative way to authorize your imported iOS account for DM access is to follow these steps:
Sorry about this problem, it will be fixed in the next update.

Note that the Twitter 1.1 API introduces changes in Twitter rate limiting. Previously, Twitter permitted each user to perform up to 350 operations per hour. With Twitter 1.1, the rate limit varies depending upon the type of operation being performed and resets every 15 minutes. For example, Twitter now permits 15 home timeline refreshes every 15 minutes.
You can monitor your Twitter rate limits by navigating to Profile > Twitter Rate Limits. A new setting is also provided if you prefer to disable rate limit error reporting. To help reduce the likelihood of exceeding Twitter 1.1 rate limits, the minimum auto refresh interval has been increased to 5 minutes.
Also note that Twitter’s 1.1 API no longer supports “Retweets to Me” and “Retweets by Me” which were previously available in My Profile. An alternative way to find retweets posted by yourself is to navigate to Profile > Tweets where you can find all of your tweets and retweets.
Tweet Marker Subscriber Plan
If you enjoy using Tweet Marker with Tweetlogix, you may be interested in checking out their new Subscriber Plan at tweetmarker.net. It’s a great way to help support the Tweet Marker service and includes access to a Safari extension for setting markers from Twitter’s web interface.
If you haven’t used Tweet Marker before, it can be enabled in Tweetlogix from Settings > Services > Synchronize. Just like placing a bookmark on your timeline, Tweet Marker makes it easy to switch between different Twitter apps without losing your place. When enabled, Tweetlogix saves the place of your home timeline, mentions, and lists whenever you press your device’s home button to close the app. Your place is restored when you return to Tweetlogix and marked with a blue ribbon in the timeline.
