Paperlogix Automation Actions

Paperlogix provides a variety of automation actions which you can invoke from your workflows and rules. These include actions to organize documents, rename, move, or upload documents to cloud services.

Rename Document Action

The Rename Document automation action provides the ability to automatically rename a document with a new name or date.

Rename Style

You can choose between three rename styles:

• Name Only: Selecting Name Only will rename the document to the name that you specify.
• Date Only: Selecting Date Only will rename the document to a date with your desired date format. Tap Format to choose from common date formats.
• Name and Date: Selecting Name and Date will rename the document with a name that you specify, along with a date. You can choose customize the location of the date (before or after the name) and the separator. You can also tap Format to choose from common date formats.

Move to Folder Action

The Move to Folder automation action provides the ability to automatically move a document to a folder within Paperlogix. You can choose from any existing folder in Paperlogix, or create a new folder.

Tag Action

The Tag automation action provides the ability to automatically tag a document. You can choose one or more tags to be added to the document.

Recognize Text Action

The Recognize Text automation action provides the ability to automatically perform text recognition (OCR) for your document.

Target

The Target option enables you to select which document pages will be text recognized. You can choose to perform text recognition for the first page, first two pages, or all pages of the document.

Wait For Completion

The Wait For Completion option enables you to specify whether text recognition should complete before the rule or workflow proceeds to the next action. For example, if the next action uploads your document to a cloud service, you would likely want to turn Wait For Completion on to ensure that text recognition completes before the document is uploaded.

Invoke Workflow Action

The invoke workflow action provides the ability to automatically invoke a workflow from a rule. This is a great way to re-use complex workflows in multiple rules.

Note that if your workflows contains user-interactive actions (Save to Photos, Compose Email, or Compose Message), these actions will not be performed when the workflow is invoked by a rule. User-interactive actions are only performed when a workflow is invoked manually by a user.

Upload to Cloud Action

The Upload to Cloud Service automation action provides the ability to automatically upload documents or images to a cloud service.

Choosing a Cloud Service

You can choose from any cloud service account that you have already used within Paperlogix, or tap Add Cloud Service to add a new one.

Destination

Tap the Destination Folder item to select the target folder on your cloud service where the documents or images should be uploaded.

Upload Type

You can choose between three upload types:

• PDF: Selecting PDF will cause the action to upload a standard PDF document containing all of the document pages. Tap PDF Settings to customize the PDF Page Size, Image DPI and Image Quality.
• JPEG: Selecting JPEG will cause the action to upload JPEG images for each document page. Tap JPEG Settings to customize the Image Size and Quality.
• Paperlogix: Selecting Paperlogix will cause the action to upload a Paperlogix document file. This format is a zip file with the .paperlogixdoc file extension.

Paperlogix document files contain the original full-resolution images captured from your camera, along with the metadata for your edits and text recognition. Paperlogix document files can be opened with Paperlogix on any device.

Save to Photos Action

The Save to Photos automation action provides the ability to automatically save document page images to your iOS photo library. When this action executes, each document page will be saved as a JPEG image to your photo library.

The Image Size and Image Quality settings give you the ability to customize the size and quality of the saved JPEG.

Since the Save to Photos action requires user interaction, it is available only for workflows (not for rules).

Compose Email Action

The Compose Email automation action provides the ability to automatically compose an email with a document or images. Since this action requires user interaction, it is only available from workflows (not from rules).

You can choose to compose the email with PDF, JPEG, or Paperlogix document attachments.

Compose Message Action

The Compose Message automation action provides the ability to automatically compose a text message with a document or images. Since this action requires user interaction, it is only available from workflows (not from rules).

You can choose to compose the email with PDF, JPEG, or Paperlogix document attachments.
